We are going to be taking a few days off for the Christmas Holidays until 2nd Jan, but customer technical support will still be available.

We have started building a prototype of our new Reservation & Booking engine based on the functions and other services that are now available from the main cloud vendors.

This week has mainly been taken up with planning a new lighter version of our Reservation & Booking engine to launch early next year.

Mostly this weeks work has been about cross platform build & deployment, centered around the ASP.NET Core platform.

We have a number of updates that are planned to release across the site this week, along with some further updates to our co.uk site also.
We are also carrying on working with some prototypes around the new serverless functions available from the three main cloud vendors.
And also carrying on our research into solutions for secondary package management feeds and into backups for repositories and issues.

We have released a new look and feel to our JasmineDesign.co.uk site, We still have a number of micro updates that will be rolled out over November.
This week will also see the end of Maintenance for Nodejs Version 0.10, So you need to make sure you are using version 4 or 6 going forward.

This week has mainly seen us working around Disaster Recovery (Remember to always test the Restore function of your backups).
We have also this week started to look at the options for backups for package management feeds.

With the release of Yarn Package Management tool last week from a collaboration between Facebook, Exponent, Google, and Tilde.
We have moved over one project at present to allow us to see if it fits into our working practices and have been really happy with the results so far.
Once we have fully had a chance to work with it a little more, we will release our findings on the development section here.

Sorry for not having updated this news page for the last few weeks but we have been busy working on a number of JavaScript projects & prototypes around React & Angular2. We have also built some prototypes around the serverless solutions available today, more on this over the next few weeks.
Our Availability API & Room Catalogue Search, have been totally rewritten. A lot more details about that very soon.
However we plan to restart the site updating this week, so will keep this page and the sitemap up to date.

I have spent most of this week looking at our build & deployment workflow for static websites and also updated our standard server config's for static websites.
The plan is to test these updates over the next few weeks and we plan to release some of the findings along the way.

Well its been a few weeks since we did a weekly update, as we have been using our free time to have a deep dive into all the updates happening around React, Angular 2, TypeScript 2, Webpack and refining our ES6 (ES2015) & ES7 (ES2016) guidelines and checking up on where browser coverage has got to.

This week has mainly been working on other projects, however we have rolled out a number of small updates and changes across the site this week.
This week also saw the last update ship for PHP 5.5 with the release of version: 5.5.38, So if you are still using 5.5 you really should plan to move to a newer release soon. We have more details available within our PHP Development Section.

Well not sure where this week went but we have been looking into the Beta release of TypeScript V2, Made a number of changes to our DevOps around our Managed Websites Packages and have been following the updates with regards to what the next version of ASP.NET Web Pages will look like on the ASP.NET Core platform.

We have have not updated this section for a few weeks as our focus has been on writing code and testing to make sure we are ready for ASP.NET Core.

We have also released a refresh to some of the content of our UK focused website JasmineDesign.co.uk, the website covers our website services that are tailored for UK based businesses.

This week has mainly been working on other projects.
Moving a large part of our Simple Rooms V3 project over to ASP.NET Core RC2 to allow for better cross platform deployment long term.
Behind the scenes our new CSS framework is coming along nicely.
This week has also seen us add a search function to the site after we had a few requests for one.
We have used Mojeek a Brighton, UK based search engine. The page is at jasminedesign.com/search/ where you can also find out more about Mojeek.

Some of these changes are to make way for a much larger change planned with the CSS to happen very soon.
